The Two Witness Company are killed
Part 10 of the Two Witnesses Series
Rev 11:7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them.
After they have finished their testimony, the beast kills the entire company of overcomers. They have finished their ministry. They lay their lives down just as Jesus laid His life down when His ministry was finished. Again, the ministry and life of Jesus is always the pattern of the two witnesses.
Rev 11:10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
Their bodies lay on the ground for three and a half days while the whole world celebrates their death. Can you imagine what it is like when this happens? Everyone is so happy that the torment is over. All the news networks are gloating over these dead overcomers. They don’t allow their bodies to be buried because they are having too much fun rejoicing over them and mocking them. The networks are interviewing people who are dancing around the dead bodies. “Finally, they are dead!”, everyone exclaims. There are parades and all the nations declare a national holiday.
Rev 11:11 But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them.
Then the breath of life from God comes into them and they stand on their feet! Great fear falls upon all the people who are celebrating. Just when the devil thought he had won. Just when the followers of the beast thought they had won. What a crushing blow to all of them. No wonder great fear falls upon them! The devil thought he had defeated God when Jesus died. Now, two thousand years later, it happens again! He couldn’t keep Jesus down and now he can’t keep the overcomers down!
