Come Out of Her my people
Part 14 of the Harlot of Babylon Series
The harlot is the global last day corporate, government sanctioned, government enforced, rebellion of mankind against God. It is society choosing evil. Society in rebellion against God. The harlot is carried by the beast, the antichrist. Together, they will try to stop the plan of God. The harlot is drunk with the blood of the saints and the witnesses of Jesus.
Notice that the Lord does not say to fight against the harlot. He just says get out.
Rev 18:4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; 5 for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
We are told to get out so that we will not participate in her sins. Her sins have piled as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
Notice also that it is her sins, not ours. Her iniquities, not ours.
As I mentioned earlier, the harlot is not our carnal, fallen, sinful nature. We all have sin, and we all struggle with it. We must all die to self and allow the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit to bring us to maturity.
Our sin nature is NOT the harlot. The harlot is corporate, not individual. She is rebellion. Not sin nature. She acts on our sinful nature and deceives us into joining her rebellion. Her rebellion manifests many ways in society. Her rebellion corrupts schools, universities, labor unions and businesses. Her rebellion corrupts local, state, national governments, and international government organizations. She rules over the kings of the earth.
The harlot is Satan’s version of the church. The true church worships God. The harlot worships Satan. The two bodies are on a collision course. The collision is called the great tribulation. One body will survive. The other will not. One body will rule and reign with Messiah for a thousand years. The other body will be burned with fire and cast into the abyss.
We are told to come out of her so that we will not participate in her sins. Her sins are accepted by society. They are approved by society. They are enjoyed by society. Participation in her sins is mandatory. Participation is endorsed and enforced by the government. Society demands that all participate in her sins. Opposition to the harlot will be illegal. If you oppose the harlot, you may lose everything. If you oppose the harlot, you may be killed. This is the perseverance of the saints.
Rev 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. 13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.”
John says to come out of her, my people. In the last days, this means some, if not most Christians, will have experienced some of the harlot’s corruption. This applies to individuals and churches. As we enter the last days, it will be very difficult to keep from being drawn into her corruption. Early on, as individuals and churches, we will be pressured. Later, as individuals and churches, we will be persecuted.
In the next few chapters I cover what the harlot will use to try and lure us into her corruption. It is easy to see what they are. It is not so easy to stand against them and come out of them.
