Destruction of the Harlot

The Destruction of the harlot and the fourfold hallelujah

Part 22 of the Harlot of Babylon Series

At the end of the tribulation, the great city will be thrown down with violence. She will not be found any longer.

Rev 18:21 Then a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will not be found any longer.

Let’s go back to Jeremiah and look at one more verse.

Jer 51:48 “Then heaven and earth and all that is in them will shout for joy over Babylon…

All heaven and earth will shout for joy over Babylon! Now listen to what John says about this celebration. The destruction of the harlot is called the fourfold hallelujah.

Rev 19:1 After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2 because His judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond-servants on her.”

3 And a second time they said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke rises up forever and ever.” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!”

5 And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” 6 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

This is quite possibly the greatest celebration in the whole Bible. The harlot has corrupted the earth with her immorality, and she has killed the Lord’s bondservants. She is responsible for unimaginable suffering and misery upon all of mankind. Finally, the Lord has judged her. Hallelujah! Her smoke rises up forever and ever.

May we be in the great multitude that says, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns!”

Rev 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”

The marriage of the Lamb has come. His bride has made herself ready. She is clothed in fine linen. The fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the lamb!

Lord, I pray that we may all be found worthy to be invited to your wedding. I pray for grace and mercy to come out of the harlot and be clothed with fine linen, bright and clean.

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

Amen.
