As in the days of Lot
Part 16 of the Harlot of Babylon Series
Luke compares the last days to the days of Lot in Sodom.
Luke 17:28 It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
Sodom was filled with homosexuality and violence. We are told that the last days will be like Sodom. We are seeing this everywhere today. Never, in the history of the world, has the whole planet been so consumed with homosexuality and violence.
Peter also speaks of Lot. God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter.
II Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; 7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men 8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.
Notice verse nine says the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation. May this be our prayer in the last days. Lord! Rescue us!
Romans also speaks of the current state of rebellion against God today.
Rom 1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie. This is the lie we are being fed daily by the education system, the mainstream media, and the government. The lie that you can be any gender you like. I have lost count of the different genders they have come up with. This is being forced on our children in the education system today. We have trans people doing the story book hour to our children at the libraries. Our elementary school children are introduced to this lie with the gender bread man. It’s a cute colorful cartoon that helps them pick which gender they want to be.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
Paul says that God gave them over to degrading passions and He gave them a depraved mind. This was because they no longer saw fit to acknowledge Him. In the following verses, Paul continues with a perfect description of the harlot. This is the final manifestation of Nimrod’s work at the tower of Babel.
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
They know the ordinance of God. They know those who practice such things are worthy of death. They not only do the same but give hearty approval to those who practice them! Not long ago, it was shameful to be a homosexual. It was hidden. Now, in just the last few years, it is called, ‘coming out of the closet.’ If a person comes out of the closet, they are celebrated! It is no longer shameful. It is glorified! When the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage, there were huge celebrations. The white house was decorated with rainbow colors. Society now gives hearty approval to its own corruption. This is Nimrod. This is the harlot. Society choosing evil. Society, in full rebellion of the ordinance of God, reveling in their own depravity.
